How do you know when your car’s MOT is due? Well, if it’s a fairly new car, it’s due on the day 3 years after the car was first registered. We have so many calls from customers booking the first MOT test for their car, which were often due months ago! The reason is simple – the DVLA don’t send a reminder when the first MOT is due. ALl you’ll get is a tiny note of your road tax reminder letter, saying that yor car will require a valid test certificate. It’s easily missed and so the first MOT due date is often only discovered when you go to buy your road tax, and the post office won’t let you.
Now, lets assume that you’ve now had your first MOT with us at Swiftest. We always take your name and address so that we can send you a reminder when your MOT test is due next year. We send around 260 reminder letters a month, and a few days after sending them, we’re normally very busy taking bookings.
The best way to book is simply to visit our website at www.swiftest.co.uk and you can book your MOT online, using our realtime 24/7 VMM system. You can view our diary online, showing our next available slot for a car or motorcycle test. By completing the online form with all your details, you’ll receive an email confirmation of your test details, and next year, you’ll also receive an email reminder and an SMS text reminder (if you entered a mobile telephone number).
If you’ve just received one of our reminder letters, we hope you’ll take the time to read it and see what other services we’re able to offer, to help make your motoring a little easier and to save you some money. Book your MOT online and receive a £2.00 discount a as well!
In the meantime, we hope you’ve enjoyed reading our blog, and we hope to see you soon,
